Black’s Beach is internationally famous as a nude or "swimsuit optional" beach, but even many long-time residents are unaware that nudity is illegal there. Whether the law is enforced depends on which side of the beach you’re standing on. Black's Beach is actually two beaches; Torrey Pines City & State beaches. On the south side of the beach, the law is enforced by the City of San Diego because of complaints by homeowners. The north side of the beach is owned by the State of California and the law is not enforced. |
