If attending one of California’s biggest lemon festivals this weekend wasn’t on your list…it’s time to replan! This fun-filled day celebrates Chula Vista’s legacy as the former ‘lemon capital of the world’. Though the lemon groves are now gone, many of the lovely homes in the area still have their own lemon trees.
Chula Vista’s Lemon Festival

The festival takes place on Saturday, August 16, from 11 AM to 6 PM, on Third Avenue. Chula Vista’s Downtown will transform into the best citrusy celebration, with cute outfits – also for your four-legged friends! This is a free event.
Here’s what you’ll also find at the 28th edition of the annual Lemon Festival:
- 2 stages of live music
- zesty photo opportunities
- a kids zone
- arts and crafts vendors
- great food options
- a wine and beer garden
Don’t miss the lemon-pie eating contest, or the best dressed contest. Prizes will include gift cards and goodies from local Third Avenue businesses.

Convinced? Eat, drink, and be zesty!
