If you don’t know, get to know: Desert Smash is THE event in the tennis calendar. If you like the sound of world-class athletes, A-list actors, and the crisp pop of a tequila bottle in the sun, then listen up.
Think of it as the Coachella of the tennis world, minus the dust storms and three-mile treks between stages. Taking over the lush La Quinta Resort & Club for its 22nd year, this two-day affair (March 2–3) is where the pros come to play, the celebs come to try and keep up, and you come to sit back and soak it all in.
Don’t miss the glamorous kickoff to the Coachella Valley tennis season!

The lowdown
The vibe is sporty-meets-luxury. Here’s what’s in store:
Celebrity Pickleball Challenge (March 2): Hollywood’s finest trade their scripts (and such) for paddles in everyone’s latest sporting obsession. Expect a day of high-energy Pickleball hijinx where you can sit courtside and catch every star-studded serve.
The Tennis Exhibition (March 3): On Tuesday there are Pro-Am matches where Grand Slam champions pair up with your favorite stars for entertaining matches that are as competitive as they are hilarious. Witness outstanding tennis and your Hollywood favs all at the same time.
The Village: This is where the socializing happens. Think Dobel Tequila margaritas flowing, Cîroc cocktails in hand, and renowned DJs setting the vibe. Between the matches, check out sponsors from HexClad, Boast, JOOLA, Yonex, IM8, and Zico. It’s the kind of VIP hospitality that makes watching sports feel like a red-carpet event (and yes, there’s a real red carpet, too!).
Serve for a cause
The event has raised millions for charitable causes over its 25 years. This year, Desert Smash benefits the USTA Foundation, funding education and mentorship programs for over 170,000 under-resourced youth. So by attending, you’re not just sipping cocktails in the sun and enjoying some great tennis; you’re also helping serve up opportunities for the next generation.

Who’s hitting the court?
The 2026 lineup is already looking great! Current ATP Tour ranked No. 6 Alex de Minaur is set to make his debut, alongside the newly crowned 2026 Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina. AND it’s just been announced that the court will be graced by none other than four-time Grand Slam champion and former World No. 1, Naomi Osaka. As for pickleball, keep your eyes peeled for Tyson McGuffin, five-time Grand Slam champion and icon of the sport. With more announcements to come, prepare to be impressed!
