Head over to these charming pubs and grab a pint!
Even though St. Patrick’s Day only happens once a year that doesn’t mean can’t celebrate all things Irish at these fun-loving pubs. We thought it would be great to put together a list of our favorite San Diego Irish pubs!
1. The Field Irish Pub, Gaslamp
The Field Irish Pub is one of the best Irish Pubs around! As soon as you step through The Field, you’ll be transported straight to Ireland! Everything in this charming spot is incredibly authentic, from the lovely staff to the gorgeous furniture and decor straight from the Emerald Isle! This is a fantastic spot for lunch or brunch and you’ll also find a great happy hour menu. Their expansive drinks menu includes draft beer favorites like Guinness, bottled beer, wine, and more!
Location: 544 5th Ave, San Diego, CA
2. O’Sullivan’s, Escondido
O’Sullivan’s is one of North County’s best Irish pubs. It was founded by San Diegans Dennis O’Sullivan. This welcoming Irish pub has fun live music and a charming outdoor patio. It’s a great spot to sit back and enjoy a craft beer and food in the San Diego sun! Some of our favorite bar snacks are their delicious french fries and potato salad!
Location: 118 E Grand Ave, Escondido, CA 92025
3.The Ould Sod, Normal Heights
The Ould Sod is a relaxed Irish pub that has been providing San Diego with Irish whiskey and pints since the late 90s. This spot has great energy and on Tuesday nights we recommend you stop by for traditional Irish live music! On Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm
you can get $10 off Midletob and $2 off Irish whiskey. PS: We love their lovely outdoor patio.
Location: 3373 Adams Ave, San Diego, CA 92116
4.Blarney Stone Pub , Clairemont
The Blarney Stone pub is a lively spot with a live band! This party-loving pub is actually the first Irish Pub in San Diego as it opened in 1978. Blarney Stone also has Sunday open-mic so it’s the perfect place to show off your range!
Location: 5617 Balboa Ave, San Diego, CA 92111
5. Stout Public House, Downtown
Stout Public House is a San Diego favorite for a reason! Their friendly staff and great menu keep regulars coming back. It is also one of the best spots in the city to watch hockey games. The Stout Public House has been serving up Irish beer, whiskey, and amazing specials since 2007 and we couldn’t be more glad.
Location: 1125 Sixth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101
6. Hooley’s Irish Pub, El Cajon, & La Mesa
Hooley’s Irish Pub was the brainchild of founder and owner, Craig MacDonald. He fell in love with Irish pub culture when visiting the Green Isle and decided to one day bring the warmth and charm of an old Irish Pub to San Diego. Now, there are two locations, both with fantastic drinks, delicious food, and that Irish charm!
Location: 2955 Jamacha Road Suite 21A, El Cajon, CA 92019 & 5500 Grossmont Center Dr, La Mesa, CA 91942
