Southern California is expected to see the return of king tides this weekend, from November 15 to 17.
These extreme tides, caused by the alignment of the sun, moon, and Earth, will create the highest high tides and lowest low tides of the year.
Here’s everything you need to know about where to watch and more!
Where To Watch The King Tides in Southern California
King Tides can be seen across Southern California’s coast, with standout locations like La Jolla Shores, North Ponto in Carlsbad, Seaside in Encinitas, and Imperial Beach offering accessibility and stunning views.
This Tide map from the Coastal California Commission can tell you what time and how high the King Tides will be near you.
For safety, observe from a distance, avoid cliffs, jetties, and low-lying areas, and always respect safety barriers and fences designed to protect you from unstable terrain and dangerous conditions.
