This festival will illuminate Vegas this weekend!
The beautiful festival takes place on November 19 at Sunset Park in Las Vegas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a weekend trip with friends or family and a great way to welcome the holiday season and create lifelong memories! This spectacular celebration was voted the top Cultural Festival in 2019 & 2020 by USA Today, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a fantastic opportunity to come together in a beautiful Vegas location and reflect on their hopes to write heartfelt messages on your very own paper lantern. The lanterns are made with sustainable materials and lit with LED candles which will be reused. The stunning and unique lanterns will illuminate the dark waters as participants reflect on their hopes and dreams in a shared moment of tranquility. The festival is a fantastic chance for friends and family to come together and enjoy a magical evening of light and hope.
Each adult ticket comes with a wristband to enter the festival and access to the food trucks, a floating lantern kit, an LED candle, a commemorative drawstring bag, a marker, playing cards, and conversation cards. The event has been thoughtfully planned and also includes the cost of collecting and removing the lanterns from the water as well as cleaning up any trash left behind. The lanterns are made from rice paper and wood, so they are as eco-friendly as possible, and the LED candles are reused and recycled.
The Water Lantern Festival has a strong eco-friendly ethos and supports the mission of Water.org in helping to provide safe water and sanitation to families around the world.
The festival opens its gates at 2:00 pm sharp. From then until 6:30 pm, there will be food trucks serving up delicous treats as well as live music and entertainment. At 4:30 pm, guests will design their own one-of-a-kind lantern before releasing them at the lantern launch from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
Water Lantern Festival began in 2018 and has now expanded to 34 cities around the world! Lantern traditions date back to the Han Dynasty in 206 BC! The practice quickly spread across China, Vietnam, and Hawaii and has evolved throughout the centuries. These beautiful ceremonies are about letting go of the past and moving towards a brighter future while creating an unforgettable moment between family and friends.
