If you’re lucky enough to be in San Diego for New Year’s Eve, you’ve got options ranging from yacht parties to massive EDM festivals. Looking for a chill countdown, with a chair on the beach and a glass of bubbly? We’ve got that too. The city is essentially throwing one giant goodbye party for 2025. Here are our favorite NYE parties, that cater to just about every vibe:
1. “Timeless” at the Hard Rock Hotel

This is arguably the most famous NYE bash in the Gaslamp Quarter. It’s hosted by Brittany Cartwright from Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. This ultimate extravaganza includes 3 floors, 7 uniquely themed areas, and live entertainment. Headliners include Sam Blacky, Alibi, DJ Five, and over 15 of San Diego’s top DJs. It’s perfect if you get bored easily and want to wander from a hip-hop room to a house music rooftop effortlessly.
2. Pier Pressure Moonlight Cruise
Looking for a bougie start for 2026? Hop aboard the California Spirit yacht. This 3-hour cruise that tours the San Diego harbor includes an open bar, amazing appetizers, and 3 decks of music. Over 40 DJs will bring the vibes throughout the night. The best part, however, is the unforgettable views: you get to watch the city skyline and midnight fireworks from the water.
3. Proper NYE at Petco Park

Hosted by FNGRS CRSSD, this is the ultimate event for electronic music fans. Taking over the grounds at Petco Park, this festival spans NYE and New Year’s Day. The lineup features beloved artists, such as Disclosure, Justice (DJ set), Skrillex b2b Four Tet, MK b2b Kaskade, or Chase & Status. It’s an outdoor & indoor hybrid, so you get the festival energy right in downtown.
4. The Gaslamp NYE bar crawl

If you’re looking for diverse vibes – in terms or music and atmosphere – then a bar crawl may be the best shout for you. One ticket gets you entry into 10+ bars and nightclubs along the 5th Avenue. You’ll also meet a ton of people throughout the night, so that’s a plus.
5. Watch the fireworks at the Embarcadero

If you wanna celebrate quietly, with your family or partner, head to Embarcadero Marina Park South for this free, but festive, moment. The grassy areas near Seaport Village is also a fabulous spot to catch the midnight fireworks show over San Diego Bay. Bring a blanket and some snacks early to claim a spot.
6. Bonfire & Fireworks on Mission Bay
Grab a fire ring at South Mission Beach for a DIY beautiful celebration. The beach is free, and you’ll get a perfect view of the SeaWorld fireworks (they usually launch at 9PM and midnight). Fire rings are first-come, first-served – get there early with snack and joyful vibes.
7. Coronado Ferry Landing

Take the ferry over or drive across the bridge to the Coronado Ferry Landing. It offers one of the best views of the downtown San Diego skyline across the water. It’s a popular spot for locals to set up chairs and listen to music. Sometimes, there’s a free concert or DJ near the shops, but we couldn’t confirm this for 2026 NYE (yet).
