As COVID-19 vaccination rates increase in San Diego, new cases of COVID-19 have dropped to 67.
The number of Covid related hospitalizations is at 92, increasing from the 91 hospitalizations on Saturday, the lowest number this year. This is only the fifth time the number of coronavirus-related hospitalizations has fallen below 100.
San Diego County public health officials reported no new COVID-19 related deaths, as the number of people with at least one dose of the vaccine crossed the 2 million mark. The cumulative case total is 280,742, while the death toll remains at 3,764.
There are over 100 mobile vaccination events this June that will aim to increase the percentage of vaccinated county residents to 75% of residents 12 years and older. San Diego County is partnering with the San Diego Padres for these mobile vaccination events. Those vaccinated at these mobile sites can enter a drawing to win a pair of Padres baseball tickets. Multiple tickets will be awarded each week through June.
