“Picture one of Amsterdam’s cannabis cafes. But think bigger.” – according to CEO Alex Ayon, that’s what we can expect from the upcoming unique cannabis lounge, Sessions By The Bay. Cannabis enthusiasts in San Diego will finally have a spot to enjoy flowers, concentrates, pre-rolls, edibles, or beverages!
What to expect
First of all, you can of course expect to be able to smoke a curated selection of cannabis at this lounge. Additionally, there’ll be delicious infused mocktails, and signature dishes, to take your experience to the next level. Vibes wise, the place aims to “captivate, inspire, and make you feel alive.”, through an immersive art experience. Sessions By The Bay will also host all sorts of art acts, from comedy nights to fun concerts, and more.
With 16,000 square feet to explore, there’s loads to do here besides the obvious. First, you enter the dispensary and choose your favorite type of cannabis. Then, you head to an immersive exhibit environment, meant to enrich your experience and captivate your senses. To relax, you can head to the Moroccan-inspired lounge, where you’ll find live entertainment and delicious meals. If you’re more of an outside person, their outdoor terrace features beautiful views of San Diego. Something for everyone!
From what we know – it looks like a place unlike any other, ready to deliver a full experience for cannabis lovers, and newbies alike.

Is cannabis legal in San Diego?
In 2024, Governor Newsom green-lit California’s cannabis cafes. Due to this fairly new law, plus community support and enthusiasm, places like Sessions By The Bay can soon exist – and you can rest assured, it’s legal, in this safe and controlled environment.
