Its jaw-dropping views can be enjoyed from almost anywhere, however, the best spot to take in all of La Jolla’s beauty is a little hidden. This mysterious spot is known mostly to locals only, and it is tucked away in the hills near Birch Aquarium. The Secret Swing is the ultimate insider and a MUST see next time you spot by La Jolla!
Take a step back from the daily grind, and go on a mini adventure in search of this hidden gem. And not that any of us need an excuse to relive our childhood playground days, but if nothing else, do it for the ‘gram. Offering visitors amazing ocean views amongst the trees, there’s no better spot to secure your next profile picture or get some amazing shots with friends or that special someone.
While the original handmade swings are no longer there, many locals have replaced them with their own many times over the years. The spot has seen everything from a swinging bench to a tire swing and everything in between. The swings have been known to go missing every now and then, but the adventure and the views alone are still worth the visit.
This little slice of heaven is situated in the area just up the hill from the Birch Aquarium. Previous visitors say to climb up the hill on a small path leading from the far side of the aquarium’s visitor parking lot to get there.
