As you probably know, LA and surrounding areas have suffered from devastating wildfires. Several ones have broken out, with a major one in the Pacific Palisades. Homes have been destroyed, people have been (and are being) evacuated, and the situation is still developing. If you are able, and would like to help, here are a couple of trusted organizations you can donate to and help those affected by California fires.
Los Angeles Fire Department
First responders are doing their best to keep people safe and save as many houses as they possibly can – and they could really use our support. Your donations would help firefighters with essential tools, needed to put out these wildfires. You can help the The LA fire department through this link.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is on the ground, supporting affected residents, by providing safe shelter, food, and health services. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here, or call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767), or text the word REDCROSS to 90999, to make a $10 donation.
Mutual Aid Groups
Most mutual aid groups are looking for supplies, volunteers, or shelters. Please take a look at this spreadsheet with mutual aid groups in LA. Each organization has a different purpose and needs different assistance, so check it out to see if there’s a way you can help those affected by fires in Southern California.
GoFundMe’s
You can also help LA residents through GoFundMe – they’ve put together a list of verified fundraisers, where you can donate to people who were directly affected by the devastating fires. You can find it here.
World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in Southern California to support first responders and families impacted. They have mobilized across the region to provide nourishing meals to people in need. You can help them out by donating through this link.

This organization aims to make a difference in the lives of those affected by disaster, and you can assist by making a donation here. ENLA is a legally registered 501(c)(3) located in Los Angeles, California, funded by grants, member dues, and generous donations.
Pasadena Humane
The Southern California fires haven’t just impacted people, but many animals as well. Pasadena Humane is looking for donations of food and water bowls, extra large crates and blankets for hundreds of animals. The group is also seeking people willing to foster animals, especially larger dogs, amid the emergency. You can donate through their website.
United Way LA
This organization focuses on long-term effects of such disasters, and aims to support low-income individuals affected. These people may experience homelessness, loss of small businesses, and disruptions to community organizations. The organization has learned from previous situations, and will apply its learning to the unfortunate events of today. You can learn more and support them here.
California Fire Foundation
The California Fire Foundation works with local fire agencies and community-based organizations, providing direct financial support to impacted residents. Your donation to the CFF Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund directly supports victims of wildfires and disasters throughout California – you can make a difference through this link.
CORE
Community Organized Relief Effort aims to empower communities in and beyond crisis, where the needs are greatest. Right now, they’re raising money for those affected by the California fires, especially the Palisades-Eaton fire. You can donate a one-time amount here, or go for a monthly contribution (long term, this would help communities affected by different disasters, all around the world).
According to their website: “at the close of the response, contributions for the Palisades-Eaton Fire will continue to create incredible impact and be reallocated to CORE’s Climate Resiliency Program that focuses on wildfire mitigation and preparedness”.
