It’s no secret that San Diego has amazing beaches. However, if you don’t feel like going to the beach we are lucky enough also to have other fantastic spots to swim and cool off! These spots are amazing options to diversity your San Diego outing repetour! Here are 7 fantastic non-beach spots perfect for any of our beautiful sunny days!
UC San Diego Pools
UC San Diego have fantastic pools to cool off! However, they do require memberships, but these tend to be more affordable when compared to traditional gyms.

San Luis Rey River
San Luis Rey River in La Jolla Indian Campground is at the base of Palomar Mountain and makes a wonderful spot to spend a sunny day. The reservation has nearly 10,000 acres of mostly undisturbed wilderness with native plants and wildlife. You can rent inner tubes in the campground and spend the day floating down the San Luis Rey River.

Three Sisters Fall
This has got to be one of the most popular waterfall hikes in the area. Like other waterfalls on this list, Three Sisters Falls is at its best after heavy rain. The hike before reaching the falls is about 2 miles, and the hike in total is 4 miles long.
Black Canyon Falls
If you’re looking for a natural swimming spot sans the beach, we recommend you hike to Black Canyon and take a refreshing dip in Black Canyon Falls! This oasis is the perfect way to cool off after a beautiful San Diego day!

Hiatus Pool and Lounge
The Hiatus pool and lounge in Hotel La Jolla have recently been renovated Hotel La Jolla. They have delicious cocktails you can enjoy in the poolside lounge whilst listening to the live music as you dry off by their cozy fireplace.

The Pearl
If you are a fan of saltwater but want to skip the beach, why not head over to Pearl Hotel’s saltwater pool? The gorgeous mid-century is genuinely unique, and their groovy butterfly chairs make an excellent spot for a poolside picture! They host Dive-In Movies on Wednesdays and brunch every Sunday, 10 am to 2 pm.

Harrah’s Rincon Casino
Harrah’s Rincon Casino has recently undergone a multi-million dollar expansion. This includes renovated pools with plenty of hot tubs, a lazy river, and a pool bar. They have Adult Swim Saturdays with live DJs, a stage pool, 21 VIP cabanas.

The Pool House
There’s nothing better to do than be poolside with friends and a good drink! The Pendry San Diego Hotel has one of the best pools in all of San Diego! The Pool House has a premier rooftop lounge featuring outstanding views in the Gaslamp Quarter. The contemporary venue has a beautiful lounge and bar, surrounded by comfy sun loungers and stylish cabanas. The pool is free daily for hotel guests but is also available for non-hotel guests Sunday to Thursday from 11 am to 6 pm, a $100 dining minimum is required.
