With so much to do in the city, San Diegans may have a challenging time picking what to do and how to get the most out of “America’s Finest City.” That’s why Secret San Diego puts out “Don’t miss” weekend plans and news for you each week, so you’ll always catch essential events in the city. Here’s a summary of activities we covered this past weekend that you can still check out.
1. Explore these unique San Diego homes
It’s no secret that there are many beautiful homes in America’s finest city. We are known for our lovely ranches, Spanish-style properties, and so on. However, there are a few homes that stand out. These houses are truly unique and one of a kind!
2. Catch a summer flick
This is every movie lover’s ideal weekend plan. Some of the films playing this weekend include Point Break, Pretty Women, Pitch Perfect, and Fight Club!
3. Seaworld’s Craft Beer Festival
From August 19 until September 11, you can enjoy over 100 incredible 100 craft brews! You’ll be sampling an unbelievable mix of domestic and local California favorites, which will pair perfectly with the delicous food items available.
4. Enjoy Italian Cinema at Little Italy’s Summer Film Festival
Each year, the LittleItaly Association teams up with Cinema Little Italy to show fantastic Italian films at the Amici Park Amphitheater. The Festivals start on July 17 and runs through September 18! Admission is FREE, but $10 donations are accepted at the door. This Saturday’s film is The Leisure Seeker. It is about a couple that goes on an unforgettable journey in their faithful old RV. The film is a humorous and moving look at growing old together. Doors open at 7:30 pm and the films start at 8 pm.
5. Roller Skate your troubles away with Gaslamp Skate Sundays!
Lace up your skates and join in every summer Sunday! This fun and thrilling experience will literally take you back. Each Sunday, you’ll skate along to decade-specific music and work up a sweat throughout the decades! A fantastic D.J. will turn up the beats from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. at 5TH & ISLAND.
6. Enjoy an outrageous bloody mary at the Farmer’s Table
Trust us when we say you’ve never encountered a bloody mary quite like this before. The Farmer’s Market serves up delicous bloody marys perfect for the summer months. However, one stands apart from the rest. Their Barn Yard Mary! This drink runs for $36.00! However, it’s actually a ginormous pitcher of Bloody Mary goodness with more than enough for a group of 4! So if you split it between you and three bloody mary enthusiasts, it comes out at a reasonable 9 dollars per person!
7. Discover Spidey’s past at Marvel’s Spiderman: Beyond Amazing Exhibition
Comic-Con may be over, but that doesn’t mean the nerdy fun is over, thanks to the Comic-Con Museum! One of their current exhibitions explores the sixty-year legacy of Spider-Man and Peter Parker! Marvel’s Spiderman: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition will teach you about the many creators who have contributed to the Spider-Man mythos and discover a number of priceless artifacts from the past six decades.
