Although there is plenty of playfulness and improvisation involved in an authentic flamenco performance, it is somehow an extremely polished production. While sitting and staring at a stage blanketed in flowers, the graceful movements and flawless foot stomps will prove this. What is “We Call It Flamenco”?
We Call It Flamenco is an authentic production bringing together some of flamenco’s classic elements. Consisting of four acts, the show includes guitar and singing solos, cantiñas, and Fandangos de Huelva. Watch the talented performers become one with the tempos they follow and purposely lose themselves in palmas (hand clapping), elegant twirls, and emotionally intense songs.
Flamenco, its palos and the show
Have you ever wondered what palos are? Simply put, there are about fifty different varieties of flamenco, and each one can be referred to as a palo. Palos follow various compas (rhythms) and toques (beats), and whether singers, guitarists, or dancers are part of the performance depends on the palo in question. Experience a fusion of Spanish tradition and creativity at We Call It Flamenco for a one-of-a-kind plan.
