WWE and the Padres just announced that Petco Park will become the first-ever stadium to host this much-awaited event – WWE Survivor Series – in November 2025. This will be the first WWE Live event taking place in our city since 2008.
Fans recognize Survivor Series for its elimination tag team matches, which typically feature teams of four or five wrestlers. The match continues until all members of one team are eliminated via pinfall, submission, count-out, or disqualification. This leaves the sole survivor standing. One of the most memorable moments in this event’s history is The Undertaker’s debut in 1990.
Why is hosting this event so important? Last year’s Survivor Series generated the highest amount of money from ticket sales in the event’s history. Hopefully the only way is up – which is great for our economy! The 2024 edition took place in front of a sell-out crowd at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.
Tickets are not available yet, but fans can already register here to receive exclusive pre-sale perks.
For the first time in the event’s nearly 40-year history, Survivor Series will take place in a stadium. San Diego’ mayor Todd Gloria added: “With the best stadium in the country and a passionate wrestling fan base, we’re ready to make this Survivor Series one to remember.”
And the Padres are just as excited as the fans! CEO Erik Greupner said: “For over two decades, Petco Park has hosted the most iconic sports and entertainment moments in San Diego history and established a well-earned reputation as a world-class venue. We look forward to welcoming WWE’s incredible talent and passionate fanbase to America’s #1 Ballpark for what promises to be another unforgettable night in the heart of downtown San Diego.”
