Since 2014, SUP Pups has been transforming how San Diego dog lovers experience the water. Founded by Samantha and inspired by her rescue dog Jack, this women-owned small business in Point Loma specializes in teaching dogs to safely stand-up paddleboard without force! Besides the usual lessons and sessions, the company sometimes organizes fun, social events. Here’s what’s coming up!
Halloween events for you and your pup

First on the calendar is Corgis & Cauldrons: A Halloween Paddle Social on Saturday, October 3. Hosted alongside local canine stars Rocket the Corgi and Orbit the Corgi, this beginner-friendly sunset paddle departs from Liberty Station. Participants will gather at 5 PM to mingle and show off their outfits, with the group paddle officially launching into the water at 5:30 PM.
Next up is The Hallo-Weenie Paddle Pawty, on Sunday, October 4. This equally festive gathering celebrates dachshunds with a beautiful sunset paddle designed for capturing adorable photos and making new friends out on the bay.
Do I need to have a dog or bring my dog to participate?

While corgis and dachshunds are the spotlight breeds for their respective nights, the SUP Pups community emphasizes that everyone is welcome. All friendly dog breeds, dog lovers, and paddlers are invited to join the fun. Yes, even if you’re coming without a furry companion!
Attendees are highly encouraged to embrace the season’s spirit and dress up, whether you outfit your pup, yourself, or coordinate a matching duo. Enter the Halloween costume contest for a chance to win a special prize.
Board rentals are readily available for those who need them, or you’re welcome to bring your own gear. Advance registration is required, so secure your spot at SUPpups.com and get ready for a memorable Halloween on the water.
The story behind SUP Pups
Samantha realized the mental and physical benefits the water provided, helping dogs overcome their fears and build confidence. What started as a personal journey has blossomed into a community that raises funds for animal charities and helps adoptable dogs find their forever homes.
So if you’re looking for a unique Halloween party, we can’t think of a better (and more typical San Diego) event. See you on the water!
