You don’t have to travel across the Atlantic to experience the charm of a traditional European Christmas market.
This winter, San Diego is getting its own Swiss-inspired village, bringing a taste of Zurich’s holiday traditions to Southern California.
A Swiss-inspired Christmas market is coming to San Diego

The Swiss Winter Village will transform its venue into an Alpine-style holiday destination, featuring more than 60 artisan chalets filled with handcrafted gifts, unique crafts, local creations and contemporary designs.
Food will be another major attraction, with around 30 food chalets serving Swiss specialties, street food and seasonal treats. Expect traditional Swiss raclette, sweet treats and mulled wine, with vegan and gluten-free options also available.

There will be plenty to do beyond shopping and eating, too. The village will feature a Ferris wheel offering panoramic views of the festivities and a classic carousel, alongside storytelling sessions, workshops, live concerts and DJ sets.
Families can also stop by Santa’s Headquarters, an Alpine-style chalet where they can meet Santa and take holiday portraits. Photos with Santa will be available from November 27 to December 20, Friday through Sunday, between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
