San Diego Butterfly Farm is such a dreamy spot!
But don’t let this idyllic paradise fool you; this organization is on a mission. The Butterfly Farm’s goal is to conserve native butterflies and their habitats through education and conservation.
You’ll learn all you could ever dream of about butterflies and have a fabulous day out. We recommend this for a unique and adventurous date idea! You will learn all about these gorgeous native butterflies and help in their conservation, all whilst taking amazing pictures of an unforgettable day.
Butterfly Farms is a unique destination in enchanting Encinitas, perfect for a sunny San Diego day! Before your visit, you could stop by Coffee Coffee for, you guessed it, coffee. We have other lovely recommendations for a beautiful day in Encinitas here. The organization is dedicated to education and regularly hosts school groups, garden clubs, and people who want to learn more about the beautiful wildlife. They are there to share their knowledge with in-depth educational tours of their beautiful vivarium and grounds. You’ll find the royal Monarchs among the variety of gorgeous native butterflies they raise!
When visiting, a $6 admission donation per person is requested. However, admission for children 2 years old and younger is free as well as for active-duty military and dependents. When walking around the lush grounds, you will also see various plants and greenery for sale at the onsite nursery. This is a fantastic gift idea, and you can never have too many plants!
The Butterfly Farms Vivarium is open every day from April 15th to November 15th from 10 until 3:00 pm.
