San Diego Butterfly Farm is a wonderful oasis full of nature and tranquility.
But don’t let this idyllic paradise fool you; this organization is on a mission. The Butterfly Farm’s goal is to conserve native butterflies and their habitats through education and conservation.
You’ll learn all you could ever dream of about butterflies and have a fabulous day out. We recommend this for a unique and adventurous date idea! And the pictures will surely be unforgettable!
Located in enchanting Encinitas, Butterfly Farms is a unique destination perfect for a sunny summer day! The organization is dedicated to education and regularly hosts school groups, garden clubs, and people who want to learn more about the beautiful wildlife. They are there to share their knowledge with in-depth educational tours of their beautiful vivarium and grounds.
Amongst the gorgeous native butterflies, they raise you’ll find Monarch butterflies!
When visiting, a $6 admission donation per person is requested. However, admission for children 2 years old and younger is free and for active-duty military and dependents. When walking around the lush grounds, you will also see a variety of plants and greenery for sale at the onsite nursery. This is a fantastic gift idea, and you can never have too many plants!
The Butterfly Farms Vivarium is open every day from April 1st to November 15th from 10 until 3:00 pm.
