This year’s EarthFair will mark its 31st anniversary!
This is the largest free environmental fair in the world, and we are proud it takes place right here in San Diego. The event will take place on Sunday, April 24, 2022, in Balboa Park from 10 am – 5 pm.
The EarthFair will be even more special since it will be the first time the event takes place since 2020. More than 50,000 visitors are expected, and it will be an excellent opportunity to learn valuable ways to live a more sustainable life and enjoy a great day in the park!
The event is produced thanks to more than 300 hard-working volunteers. This year’s EarthFair will feature over 200 exhibitors in 11 unique exhibit areas. There will be plenty of delicious food to choose from in the three International Food Courts and two Beer Gardens.
The fair also has a Children’s Activity Area with four entertainment stages, so the kids have plenty to keep them entertained. The activities are intended to educate, entertain, and inspire kids in Earth Day’s spirit. This year, participants will learn about recycling and make gift cards from recycled materials! They will also learn how to visit wild areas without disturbing the environment.
Other activities you can expect at the fair include the Earth Day Parade, The eEARTH Gallery Art Show, and the Cleaner Car Concourse. The eARTh Gallery will feature incredible artwork by San Diegan artists using recycled materials and depictions of “Endangered Spaces” in San Diego County.
The EarthFair exhibitors are the stars of the show as they represent every type of environmental organization, governmental program, and business addressing how to better take care of our environment. The EarthFair values inclusion, which is why their exhibitor fees are graduated to allow a range of organizations to participate.
You’ll be able to find so many beautiful things like products made from natural and organically grown crops, clean air and water products, and so much more. If you’d like to learn more about being a more active participant in the fight against climate change, there will be many groups attending the event. You can learn about causes such as rainforest preservation and more!
The EarthFair has a goal to be a zero-waste event, so everything will be recycled, reused, or composted!
