The Harper’s Topiary Garden is the real-life Edward Scissorhands dream!
This landscape wonderland is a San Diego gem that locals and tourists alike must visit! The private garden was lovingly crafted by its owners, Alex and Edna.
The house sits on top of a hill and looks over its sprawling yard which looks like it jumped off the pages of a fairytale! The yard has innumerable green bushes, all beautifully carved into living art pieces. You’ll find dazzling creations like whales, bunnies, and elephants! Owners Edna and Alex first got the idea of creating an artistic reminder of their globe-trotting adventures in the early 2000s. Since then, their garden has evolved into what it is today! It’s a great spot to get in touch and be inspired by nature. It’s not surprising locals refer to it as Edward Scissorhands garden! This one-of-a-kind space really does make you feel like you’re walking through the iconic Tim Burton film. There’s even a little wooden sign on a tree that says, “Edna Scissorhands!”
This San Diego hotspot attracts both locals and visitors from around the world! Since its inception, it has become quite the attraction for local visitors as well as those around the world! It features 50 life-sized intricately carved topiaries shaped by hand! This incredible attraction is FREE to visit!
The owners who maintain the garden are amazingly talented artists! The stunning home is located at 3549 Union St, San Diego, CA 92103. Alex and Edna are very welcoming and ask to respect the garden by not touching, walking, or climbing around the garden and respecting their privacy.
