Ready to kick off your shoes, roll up your pants, and embrace a messy (and super fun) tradition? On Saturday, September 5, 2026, charming Julian invites you to its annual Julian Grape Stomp Festa. It’s held at the picturesque Menghini Winery.
Julian Grape Stomp Festa – what to expect
Celebrating its 29th anniversary, this seasonal festival runs from 11 AM to 5 PM. It’s a pretty unique late-summer afternoon activity in San Diego’s East County. For a $25 ticket, adults receive a commemorative wine glass, a complimentary wine tasting, and the chance to go back to basis: squish tones of grapes right between their toes. Younger stompers (ages 6–20) can join in the fun for just $8. Kids under 5 can attend for free.
More than just the grapes…and the wine
Beyond the stomping barrels, the Festa is a great community party. You can sip (extra) samples from local wineries, grab a bite from a wide variety of food vendors, browse unique shopping booths, and enjoy live music. Spontaneous dancing has happened before! This year, you can also join a Lucy lookalike contest.
