Looking for a different kind of adventure? Just outside of San Diego, Lions Tigers & Bears is a sanctuary dedicated to providing a lifelong safe haven for abused, abandoned, and neglected exotic animals.
A second chance at life
The sanctuary is currently home to over 60 rescued animals, spanning 19 different species. While it proudly houses its namesake lions, tigers, and bears (including American black bears and grizzlies!), the facility also shelters leopards, bobcats, mountain lions, African servals, and domestic farm animals.
Many of these majestic creatures are survivors of the illegal exotic pet trade, roadside zoos, or the entertainment industry. This place operates strictly as a “no kill, no breed, no contact, and no sell” rescue. This means the animals are never exploited for cub-petting or photo opportunities. Instead, they’re finally allowed to live with dignity. They swim, roam, and play in open-air habitats.
How you can help Lions Tigers & Bears: sponsor and feed
Because the sanctuary receives no government funding, it relies entirely on your generosity to keep its gates open. There are several impactful ways you can get involved:

- Feed a wild animal: Big cats and bears have massive appetites! Contributing to their feeding programs ensures these giants receive a highly nutritious diet every single day. And yes – you can help feed the animal!
- Book a guided visit: You can book guided, educational visit to hear the animals’ heartwarming survival stories and learn how to help end the exotic pet trade.
