Pucks and Pints, the festival that combines hockey, craft beer, and great BBQ, is taking place on March 29, 2025, at Pechanga Arena. If you’re a fan of any – or all – of the above, this is an event you won’t want to miss! The best part? It’s all for charity, so you end up giving back, while enjoying a day full of fun.
Pucks and Pints – what to expect?
Head to the arena at noon to witness a casual hockey game, where staff members from multiple sponsoring breweries face each other. Stay for the much-awaited beer and BBQ festival, taking place between 2-5 PM, and wrap things up by cheering for the San Diego Gulls as they face Calgary Wranglers.
The food and beer festival (21+) will take place at Bay City Brewing, right across the street from the north parking lot of Pechanga Arena. It includes all-you-can-eat selections from Phil’s BBQ and unlimited samples from several local craft breweries. To celebrate the event, you can enjoy a limited-release beer at Stone Brewing Liberty Station, called Pucks and Pints 7 – a light blonde session ale infused with mango and made with fruity New Zealand hops. Perfect for the spring season!
Tickets and charities
Tickets include entry to all three segments of the day and cost $65. All proceeds benefit five local non-profit organizations:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego – promoting academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development for our youth
- Emilio Nares Foundation – helps families navigate through their child’s journey with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
- Resque Ranch – provides shelter, food, physical therapy, socialization, training, and adoption opportunities for rescued and rehabilitated horses
- San Diego Brewers Guild – a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization that promotes local small businesses and entrepreneurs of craft beer
- San Diego Chill – bringing the magic of skating and ice hockey to children of all ages with developmental disabilities
Last year’s Pucks & Pints sold out and raised more than $35,000, a record for the six-year history of the event. If you’d like to help them top that, grab your ticket here.
Organizers
This not-to-miss event was created in 2018 by hockey-loving beer industry insiders. While there are a couple of main breweries organizing it (such as Thorn Brewing, Stone Brewing, Societe Brewing, and Modern Times/Maui Brewing), the event is 100% volunteer based with support from breweries all over San Diego.
