If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally check out one of the many art exhibitions, the History Center, the Children’s Museum, or any other cultural spot in our wonderful city…this is it. San Diego Museum Month is back for February 2026, and it’s arguably the best time of year to play tourist in your own city.
What is San Diego Museum Month?
The deal is straightforward and fantastic: throughout the entire month of February, locals get 50% off admission at over 70 museums, historic sites, gardens, and aquariums across the county. Whether you’re looking to entertain the kids, impress a date, or wander through some history solo, this fits each and every plan.
How to take advantage of this amazing deal
All you need to get the discount is a pass. You can grab a free printed pass at any San Diego public library, or download a digital pass directly from the San Diego Museum Council website. One pass is good for up to 4 people, so you can bring a squad.
What’s new in 2026?

This year’s list includes some exciting newcomers. The highly anticipated Navy SEAL Museum San Diego is officially participating, and so is the newly reopened Balboa Park Botanical Building. Other fresh faces include the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial and the Green Dragon Tavern & Museum in Carlsbad.
Do I need a reservation?
While most spots let you just walk up and show your pass, the big hitters like Birch Aquarium and LEGOLAND often require advance reservations. Always check the specific venue’s website before you head out!
