We’re blessed with a moderate climate year-round, which means it’s always a great day for an outdoor festival – and luckily, we’re in no shortage of those! Whether you’re looking to sing and dance, sip on craft beers or watch colorful parades, we’ve got you covered. Below, we summarize our 5 favorite summer festivals in San Diego.
1. Wonderfront Festival
Okay, it takes place in May…but this must be on our list of favorites! Wonderfront brings the newest and the coolest from everyone, for everyone. Whether you’re into rock, pop, indie, country, rap, or EDM…you’ll find your new favorite artist here. Besides, well-known and beloved artists will headline the line-up. The festival takes place right by the water, and you can even take the party to the water, with some of their huge boat cruises being included in your ticket. This year, you can catch Foster The People, Peggy Gou, Jason Mraz, The Fray, 4 Non Blondes, and so many more amazing artists.
2. San Diego Brew Festival
Another local beloved fest is the San Diego Brew Festival. This year, the event will be held from June 14 at NTC Park. It will feature over 70 breweries, 200 beers, 10 of San Diego’s top food trucks, and great local cover bands. General admission is $50 and includes unlimited samples from your favorite breweries, such as Great Notion, Crooked Stave, Prairie, Baja Brewing, and so many more.
3. Into The Horizon
For those who love to dance the day away, this is THE best of the summer festivals in San Diego. Into The Horizon brings many huge names in the house, dance and EDM industry. This year, you can see The Chainsmokers, Alesso, Gryffin – more great artists will soon be announced! The 2025 edition is scheduled for June 21–22, at Waterfront Park. Tickets start at $96 for one day.
4. Holo Holo San Diego
Looking for a chill vibe? Then this is the summer festival for you. The Holo Holo Music Festival is a vibrant celebration of Pacific Island and reggae music. It arrives in San Diego on August 30-31, just in time to say goodbye to this amazing season. The event takes place at Gallagher Square at Petco Park. J Boog, The Green, Common Kings and Wyclef Jean are headlining, with many others artist on the line-up as well.
5. San Diego Pride Festival
Well, we can’t have a list of summer festivals in San Diego without including one of the biggest ones: Pride! This is the largest event that celebrates diversity and inclusion, and it returns to Balboa Park on July 19. As usual, you can expect loads of live entertainment, queer-owned businesses and community resources. Stay tuned for upcoming details on artists, vendors, and more.
