It’s time to spend even more time outside and enjoy one of the greatest months in the city. This April in San Diego is packed with fun and seasonal activities: see a live concert, pick your own strawberries, sip your way through a wine festival, or discover your new favorite dish. Let’s dig in!
1. Enjoy an enchanting spring candlelit concert
Flickering flowers and stunning blooms take the stage at these spring concerts in San Diego. From classical composers like Hans Zimmer, to more contemporary concerts doing classical renditions of Taylor Swift, Adele, or Queen, there’s something for everyone. 2. Take in the spring blooms this April in San Diego
There are so many gorgeous places to see Southern California’s stunning spring blooms, from tulips to wildflowers. It’s a great time to spot a couple of native plants too, such as the California poppies. 3. Sip at North Park festival of beers
The North Park Festival of Beers returns on April 5, 2025, in front of the historic Lafayette Hotel. Enjoy your favorites and discover new ones, as over 50 local craft breweries are bringing their best. Buck’o’Nine will perform live to keep the energy high, while hot dogs, BBQ, and more, will keep your belly happy. This year, a portion of the proceeds from will be donated to the San Diego Music Foundation. Tickets start at $32.
4. Eat, drink, sing repeat at Tequila & Taco Music Festival
Legendary Timbaland And B.o.B. are about to headline this year’s edition of Tequila & Taco Music Festival, which is returning to San Diego on April 26, 2025. The name is pretty self explanatory, so you probably get what you can expect. It will be a day filled with various delicious tacos, an assortment of Margs and tequila, and great music. There are a couple of options when it comes to tickets, including tequila tasting experiences, and group deals. More about this here.
5. Go on a picnic
As the weather warms up, grab a pizza and some kombucha and head over to a beautiful outdoor spot for a picnic. It’s cheaper than a fancy restaurant and you get to take in the the city. La Jolla Hermosa Park has beautiful ocean views and Balboa Park also has a ton of museums to stroll through after your picnic. If you wanna go the extra mile, head to The Torrey Pines Gliderport.

6. Head to Sunset Terrace for Sinatra Under The Stars
Bringing live music to one of the best rooftop venues, these Concerts Under the Stars are not one to miss. This April in San Diego, travel back in time and soak up Sinatra’s most iconic tunes at Sinatra Under The Stars from the Sunset Terrace at the Intercontinental Hotel. Complete with light bites, classic cocktails, stunning views, and talented musicianship, the tribute concert might just be the coolest thing in the calendar!
7. Sip delicious wine at Uncorked this April in San Diego
On April 12, 2025, it’s time to sip our way through the weekend with amazing wines. The 9th annual Uncorked: San Diego Wine Fest takes place at the Spanish Landing! Here, you can enjoy over 150 wines and bubblies from around the world. In case wine’s not your thing, there’ll be craft cocktails, a DJ, local food trucks, and more to discover. Early admission tickets are $80 and get you an extra hour of tasting with exclusive wines, and general admission is $65 – these both include unlimited wine tastings.
8. Take a hike to a waterfall
POV: It’s Sunday and you’re wondering what to do before you head for an afternoon beer. Why not take a hike? Since San Diego is gifted with sunshine regularly, visiting your nearest waterfalls is a wonderful and refreshing idea. 9. SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival
This much awaited festival takes place every weekend in April, so you’ve got enough time to explore it all! This year, an exciting menu is curated by Executive Chef Zuric Ramirez. As the name suggests, you get to chew and sip your way around the world. Expect flavors from Asia, Europe, Africa, and more, with over 150 dishes. Live entertainment and carefully crafted cocktails will complete the scene.
10. See the Padres at Petco Park
Enjoy the 2025 Padres season all throughout spring! This April in San Diego, you can catch the Padres at Petco Park on many days, but you can also head to their many Party in the Park events or KidsFest, for a pre-game warm up. If you can’t make the game, just head to your favorite sports bar and enjoy the show.
11. San Diego EarthFest
Everyday may feel like Earth Day when you live somewhere as environmentally conscious as San Diego, but the city will be holding their annual Earth Day festival on April 19, 2025! The event will have free entry and parking, over 100 eco-friendly food vendors, yoga classes, talks, live music and activities for kids. The zero-waste event takes place at Balboa Park, on the expansive lawn located at Park Boulevard and Presidents Way.
12. Have the best seafood this April in San Diego
April is a the perfect month to hang out at a terrace by the sea, cold drink in your hand, sharing oysters and fresh seafood with friends. 13. Pick delicious strawberries
Did you know that California produces almost 80% of the strawberry crops in the U.S.? And better yet – did you know that just 30 minutes away, you can head to a beautiful family-owned strawberry farm, where you can pick up your own? When the U-Pick strawberry fields at Carlsbad open, they’re a must-visit this April in San Diego. Get a basket (holds about 2 lbs of strawberries), pick your favorites, and take loads of beautiful pictures.
14. Enjoy a delicious Easter brunch
As with any other holiday, food is a big part of a great get-together. While some prefer to host and cook their family recipes, others love nothing more than to enjoy a delicious multi-course meal with loved ones…and zero worries or dishes. For the latter, there are a couple of spots in San Diego that offer a great Easter spread. Below are some favorites – check their websites for reservations.
- Covewood hosts an Easter brunch on April 20, from 10 AM. It features carrot & coconut bisque, wood roasted lamb rack, caramel croissant bread pudding, and more. There’ll also be an egg hunt! The menu is priced at $90 for adults and $40 for children.
- Greenfinch Restaurant also offers an Easter brunch option, on April 20, from 10 AM. Expect white wine braised halibut, roasted leg of lamb, lemon curd tartlets, and more.
- Adelaide will host an elevated oceanfront buffet experience on April 20 from 10:30 AM. Made with locally sourced ingredients, it features highlights like sesame soba noodle salad, garlic & herb crusted prime rib, Spanish seafood paella, and more. The menu’s priced at $125 per adult and $39 per child.
- The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe hosts a whole day of family fun, complete with egg hunts, face painting, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Their signature restaurant, Lilian’s, offers brunch with highlights such as crafted cocktails, fluffy pancakes, and seasonal eats.
