What’s up at the Tustin Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off?
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the city of Tustin is hosting the event’s 42nd edition. This isn’t your average neighborhood food festival – it holds the distinct honor of being the largest one-day chili cook-off in the country, drawing a crowd of over 40,000 enthusiasts.
Taking over the streets of Old Town Tustin and Peppertree Park from 11 AM, this is basically a giant culinary block party. Competing teams cook up at least 20 gallons of their signature chili on-site to be judged on flavor and texture. For just $2, you can grab a 4 oz. tasting cup and sample your way through an impressive array of recipes. You can also pair your tastings with local craft beers or wine ($9 per pour), while exploring the festival grounds.

Beyond the chili, there’s plenty to keep you entertained all day. Don’t miss the vintage lowriders at the classic car show, and catch live music across multiple stages. Oh, and if you’re bold enough, stick around for the famous Jalapeño eating contest or the beer stein-holding competitions.
All proceeds from those $2 chili samples go to local non-profit organizations. So grab your crew, bring your appetite, and see you in Tustin!
