If you’re not familiar with “chimac” (치맥), it’s the Korean pairing of chikin (fried chicken) and maekju (beer). Need we say more to convince you that it’s worth the trip?!
This festival is built entirely around that beloved combo, serving up plates of authentic Korean fried chicken – from crispy original to sweet-and-spicy glazes. Pair it with a cold drink, sizzling kimchi jeon (scallion pancakes), and desserts from a lineup of K-food vendors.
What to expect at the Korean festival
Chimac Fest is essentially 2 events in one. By day, it’s an all-ages celebration of Korean culture with K-beauty brands, community booths, and a Kids Zone featuring inflatable sports games. When the sun goes down, the grounds transform into Orange County’s premier EDM destination.
Yep, you can skip the mega-festival crowds and catch top-tier electronic sets right in Irvine. Friday’s EDM lineup features DJ Kira, DJ Kepik, and DJ Kwon Yeonsu, with viral headliner DJ Soda closing out the night. Saturday brings performances by KITTY KLUB, SEDUZA, MVSE, and a closing set by melodic-bass producer Hoang. Plus, you can catch awesome K-pop choreography by the DIMA – BLOVPI crew all weekend long.
The best part? General admission starts at just $15, which covers both the daytime festival grounds and the evening concerts. If you want front-of-stage access for the EDM sets, there are VIP options available as well.
