Summer is finally (basically) here! Hurray!
And what a better way to celebrate than heading outdoors and seeing all our beautiful city has to offer. Enjoy the wonderful San Diego weather and outdoors, along with these awesome activities this June! Just remember to wear your sunscreen!
1.Pride
Do you know what June means? Pride, of course! The time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its critical history! Many fun and important events are going on this June in sunny San Diego. Such as the LATINIX PRIDE on June 4 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. There are a ton of other wonderful events this month and well into July, so be sure to keep an eye on their site for more information.

3. San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival
The San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival is back on June 11-12th! This annual event is hosting some of the best jazz musicians in the country that will surely put on a fabulous show. There will also be delicious cuisine to enjoy as you let the soothing sounds take you in.

4.The Pool House in The Pendry
With the weather being so perfect, there’s nothing better to do than be poolside with friends and a good drink! The Pendry San Diego Hotel has one of the best pools in all of San Diego! The Pool House has a premier rooftop lounge featuring outstanding views in the Gaslamp Quarter. The contemporary venue has a beautiful lounge and bar, surrounded by comfy sun loungers and stylish cabanas. The pool is free daily for hotel guests but is also available for non-hotel guests Sunday to Thursday from 11 am to 6 pm, a $100 dining minimum is required.

5.Rooftop Cinema Club
There’s nothing quite like the summer season to watch movies, especially under the stars of a lovely California evening. Rooftop Cinema Club has an outstanding selection of iconic films that you will enjoy on comfy deck chairs, along with a fantastic food and drinks selection. This makes for a unique and wonderful evening out for all moviegoers!

6. The Children’s Pool in La Jolla
La Jolla, the jewel, the village, whatever you call it, this wonderful part of town is an ideal location to spend an entire summer day this June! You should bring your camera to take pictures of all the beautiful beaches and marine life, like the Children’s Pool where the seals gather.

7.Hotel Del Coronado
Hotel Del Coronado is an iconic institution that opened back in 1888. It is the second-largest wooden structure in the United States and a National Historic Landmark. The hotel has hosted countless presidents like Franklin D. Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter, for starters. Celebrities such as Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Burt Lancaster, and Frank Sinatra have also been guests. One of the best films ever made, Some Like It Hot was filmed almost entirely here! It has some beautiful restaurants, and its beach is a fantastic place to work on your tan! The ferry ride to and from Coronado is the cherry on top of this tremendous outing!

8.Surf lessons at San Diego Surf School
Well, if you don’t know how to or haven’t surfed in a long time, a surf lesson is a fun activity you should try this June. San Diego Surf School has experienced instructors trained to work with beginners as well as experienced surfers who want to improve. They offer private, semi-private, and group lessons, which all last 90 minutes.

9.Taste of Little Italy
The Taste of Little Italy is a wonderful showcase of what Little Italy has to offer! The event will take place on Tuesday, June 21, and Wednesday, June 22 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This year, Taste will be held over two days, with two-time slots to minimize congestion. Attendees will explore all lovely 48-square-blocks of Little Italy and sample delightful bites from some of Little Italy’s finest culinary gems. As soon as you arrive on this culinary adventure, you’ll have check-in at the Piazza della Famiglia and receive your Taste Passport!

10.Gelato in Little Italy
Little Italy is a beautiful place you and your friends can spend a lovely day visiting. The food is fantastic, and nothing beats a summer day quite like gelato! You should try Milkissimo gelato. An excellent small gelato shop run by the very popular owner Klaudio. His small business is known for its fantastic, friendly service and excellent gelatos! Their Charcoal flavor is a particular favorite, and we can’t wait to try their new Caramel Penutbutter Cup flavor!

11. Taste of Gaslamp
San Diego’s premier tasting tour returns to the iconic Gaslamp Quarter on June 18th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This delicious self-guided foodie tour has been around since 1993 and they have grown to now include over 20 outstanding restaurants across 16 city blocks! A general admission ticket costs $45 if you buy it in advance and $55 on the day of the event.
