One of San Diego’s favorite seasonal traditions is back! Running from May through October, the Summer Movies in the Park series brings free, family-friendly outdoor screenings to dozens of neighborhood parks across the county. First launched in 2007 as a “take back our parks” initiative, it has grown into the region’s largest free outdoor movie series, with over 60 films slated for this summer.

Movies in the Park – June highlights

The summer lineup starts strong in June with a mix of magical animations, new releases, and crowd-pleasing classics. Highlights include:
- June 6: Wicked: For Good at Potrero County Park
- June 13: The Goonies at Morley Field Sports Complex (North Park) & Encanto at Luz Duran Park
- June 20: K-Pop Demon Hunters at Waterfront Park Downtown
Movies in the Park – July Highlights

July keeps the fun going with huge blockbusters and fan-favorite animated sequels:
- July 10: Shrek at Lindo Lake County Park
- July 11: Superman (2025) at Jess Martin County Park
- July 25: Zootopia 2 at Waterfront Park Downtown
- July 31: Wicked: For Good at Colina Del Sol (Mid City)
Movies in the Park – August highlights
August wraps up the summer stretch with beloved family gems, sci-fi, and a touch of vintage cinema. Titles include:

- Aug. 4: Beauty and the Beast (1991) at Pacific Beach / Taylor Library
- Aug. 8: Inside Out at Hilton Gaslamp Park Downtown
- Aug. 14: TRON at Nobel Recreation Center
- Aug. 15: Finding Dory at Flinn Springs County Park
