San Diego Pride returns in 2026 with the an empowering theme: Pride Shines On. From July 11 to July 19, the week-long celebration is dedicated to honoring the history, resistance, and joy of the LGBTQIA+ community.
While the main celebration is the Pride Parade, the festivities also include a weekend festival and a variety of community-focused side events. Here’s everything you need to know about the San Diego Pride.
The San Diego Pride Parade
As the largest single-day event in the region and one of the largest Pride parades in the US, the parade attracts over 250,000 supporters annually. It takes place on Saturday, July 18, from `10 AM onwards, in our beloved Hillcrest (starting at Hillcrest Pride Flag at University Ave. & Normal St.). and it’s free for all to attend.
The parade marches along University Avenue, turns south on 6th Avenue, heads left onto Balboa Drive, and finally concludes at Quince Drive.
Expect everything from colorful floats, community organizations, and marching bands. Get there early to grab a good spot!
The Pride Festival
After the parade, the celebration continues at Balboa Park. San Diego’s biggest LGBTQIA+ summer party will feature over 100 artists, performers, and DJs across 4 stages: the Stonewall Stage, Mundo Latino Stage, Movement Stage, and Euphoria (EDM) Stage. This year, the festival will be headlined by Krewella and MARINA. The festival grounds will also feature community resources, artisan booths, food vendors, and more.
Side events & community parties
Besides the main events, there are plenty of community events leading up to the parade. Here are some you can’t miss:
- San Diego Pride Dyke March – Saturday, July 11, 2026 | 11 AM – University Ave. This march celebrates queer women, lesbians, Trans women, and everyone aligned with Dyke energy.
- Light Up the Cathedral – Wednesday, July 15, 2026 | 7 PM – St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral. An interfaith Pride celebration bringing together LGBTQIA+ faith leaders and the community. After the service, the historic cathedral will be illuminated in rainbow colors.
- Spirit of Stonewall Rally & Block Party – Friday, July 17, 2026 | 6 PM. The official kickoff to Pride weekend commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots. The rally is typically followed by a lively community block party in Hillcrest to get the weekend started right.
- Pride 5K Run + Walk – Saturday, July 18, 2026 | 8 AM – Corner of Centre and University Ave
