For the 26th year, La Jolla Historical Society is hosting a unique, mysterious tour to discover hidden gems. On May 17, 2025, you have the opportunity to step into 6 private La Jolla gardens and take a peek into the unknown.
The gardens’ location remains a secret until the day of the tour. However, we do know they all offer beautiful views and unique settings, making this tour truly one of a kind. Besides their natural beauty, in each garden you’ll find live musicians, plein air artists, and dining table designs. This is a great opportunity to see the artistry of local landscapers and architects.
You can explore these amazing La Jolla gardens in two ways, depending on which kind of experience you’re looking for. You could take a Self-Guided tour, once the locations are revealed. Or, you could choose the Platinum Tour, which includes a docent-led shuttle service (that will teach you many historical facts of each property), catered lunch, and a spectacular 7th garden, that you can only see with this package.
If you’d like a little souvenir to remind you of your adventure, they have that covered, too. At Wisteria Cottage, you’ll find the The Secret Garden Boutique, open only on May 17. You can shop gardening accessories, plants, or thoughtful gifts. The boutique features vendors known for their artistic style and craftsmanship as well as a silent auction with one-of-a-kind items.
Throughout your tour of the La Jolla gardens, locally sourced farm-fresh eats will be available – cause everybody loves a good snack with a great view!
This one-day-only spring activity truly is a hidden gem for San Diegans, letting us discover this city in a deeper sense. Excited? Tickets start at $62, and you can find them here, along with more information.
