ALTA COLINA – or the house on the hill – is an amazing space that truly brings a slice of Greece through its details. Strategically located right by the airport, it’s the perfect choice for those flying in and looking to relax in a special place. Its location doesn’t only mean that you get to see the planes take off and land – it also comes with absolutely gorgeous harbor views. Besides, Downtown is only a 5 minute Uber ride away.
Why the Santorini look? The design and all details around it are inspired by the family’s travels throughout Europe. Erica, the owners’ daughter, told us this is actually the house she grew up in…although, it looked nothing like this! The beautiful space we see today is the result of many years of hard work put in by Mary and Chris, the lovely owners. They spent decades dreaming each single corner of it – and 7 years building it. Their dedication is obvious throughout the whole space, from personal touches to complimentary products, postcards, or even parting gifts.
The space
ALTA COLINA consists of two spaces. An AirBNB that you can rent for a couple of nights and travel from San Diego straight to Greece. Or, a furnished monthly rental – in case you need a bit of a longer escape! You’ll find a dreamy outdoor patio, perfect for cocktail hour with the greatest views. The spiral staircase will remind you of small, cozy European towns. The fireplace and jacuzzi make sure you relax day in and day out. And the best part? San Diego’s only funicular! In true Santorini style, you can hop on this cute trolley car, that will take you to your little villa.
