Every July, San Diego transforms into the epicenter of pop culture. But here’s the best-worst-kept secret in fandom: you don’t need an official badge to experience the magic of Comic-Con. During the weekend of July 23–26, 2026, the entire downtown area becomes a big, open-air celebration. Expect immersive pop-ups, late-night parties, and amazing fan experiences.

Marvel Games Lounge
This is an interactive destination where you can get hands-on experience with upcoming Marvel-themed video games. It’s a great spot to meet game developers, test your skills, and hang out with fellow fans – all right next to the convention center. The event is free to attend.
BERO x Nason’s Beer Hall – a Comic-Con special
Celebrate everyone’s favorite web-slinger at this dedicated Spider-Man-themed pop-up. The event features interactive photo opportunities and exclusive memorabilia. While you’re there, you can sample BERO, the premium non-alcoholic beer brand launched by Tom Holland. No tickets are required to enter, but reservations are recommended.
The Chuck Jones Gallery
This gallery celebrates the genius behind Looney Tunes and classic animation. Throughout the weekend, the gallery will host pop-up art displays, historic animation exhibits, and artist meet-and-greets. It’s completely free to attend!
Hello Kitty Café Truck
You don’t need a stadium ticket to enjoy the Petco Park Interactive Zone. Parked right in the action, the iconic Hello Kitty Café Truck will be open daily, offering fans a chance to snag exclusive, limited-edition Sanrio merch and picture-perfect sweet treats. You can find newly released totes, hats, blankets, mugs, jackets, and t-shirts.

Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Concert
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic 1986 animated masterpiece. This live, ticketed concert experience brings the film’s legendary heavy metal soundtrack to life. It’s the perfect evening escape for classic Autobots and Decepticons fans. Expect a special appearance by Stan Bush, the voice behind “The Touch.” Tickets are $53 for general admission.
Pendry x Donut Bar
Early start? From 7 AM daily throughout the convention weekend, this collaboration will serve up exclusive, character-themed gourmet donuts (sweet & savory). They pair perfectly with a morning stroll to check out the street cosplay.
Mighty Mic Drop 2026
Hosted by the popular collectibles company Mighty Jaxx, this (first ever) 21+ ticketed event kicks off on Thursday, July 23. Expect an evening of epic karaoke tracks, collectible giveaways, specially crafted cocktails, and light & tasty bites.
Tickets are $125 each.
Comic-Con Anime “Party Plus Ultra”
This fan-forward club night is designed specifically for the anime community. Expect incredible cosplay, heavy beats, and an electric atmosphere that rivals an official convention afterparty. Live anime cover band Isekai Stage will perform fan-favorite anthems before DJ Chuck None, DJ Overkill, and Kahn Artest take over.
Tickets are $30 for Early Birds, and then $40.
Food pop-up: Lumpia Con
For 3 nights, this unique food convention features mouth-watering lumpia pop-up menus alongside local artist showcases. It’s the perfect place to fuel up on great food while supporting independent creators.
All events are free to attend, and offer a blend of food, fandom, and Filipino American creativity.
