July marks the middle of the summer, which means we’ve already gathered a couple of memories, but still have time to make more. To make sure you won’t miss anything, we’ve put together our favorite plans for spending July in San Diego. Remember to wear sunscreen!
1. 4th of July Fireworks

Start the month off right with a beautiful show. Get together with friends and family and choose your favorite venue – there’s pretty much an event in every quarter of the city. 2. Pride

It’s the most colorful time of the year this July in San Diego, because it’s time for the beloved Pride Parade. This year, events take place between July 16 – 20, with the Parade on July 19. San Diego’s Pride Parade is the largest single-day civic event in the region and is among the largest Prides in the United States, with over 250,000 attendees. On the same day and the following (July 19-20), The Festival takes place at Balboa Park, with amazing live entertainment, community resources and various booths.
3. Comic-Con July 2025

Comic-Con is the premier event for all things comics and related popular art. This includes movies, television, gaming, interactive multimedia, and more. There’s cosplay galore, unique programming, exclusive previews, and diverse exhibit halls featuring merchandise and displays representing all fandoms. This ultimate event takes place between July 24 and 27, at the San Diego Convention Center.
4. Don’t miss this amazing tribute to Bad Bunny
Bad Bunny, but make it classy? Yes, we can! Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in San Diego. On July 19, this talented orchestra will play your favorite Bad Bunny songs. With the artist’s current popularity, we’re sure the tickets will fly – so grab yours here.
5. Summer Sera in Little Italy this July in San Diego

Summer Sera is a free, all-ages evening event in Little Italy that extends the farmers market into a lively community celebration. Enjoy local food, artisan goods, live music, and fun activities like a dog costume contest. Perfect for families, friends, date nights, and more – it’s a festive way to experience the charm of Little Italy and experience la dolce vita on a warm summer night.
6. Dine outdoors at these top rated restaurants

7. Check out Padres Theme Games this July in San Diego

Watching a Padres game is always a great experience, and it’s usually even more fun if you catch the pre-party at Petco Park. However, occasionally, we get Theme Games…and those are REALLY fun. The San Diego Padres host the games to celebrate community, culture, and shared interests. In July, there’s a Bark at the Park game and a Hello Kitty themed game. You can learn more about each here.
8. The Best of San Diego Party

Hosted by San Diego Magazine at Legacy Plaza Liberty Station, this is a premier summer event featuring unlimited food and drink tastings from over 100 top local restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries. You can expect live entertainment, dancing, photo ops, and lounge areas as you celebrate – as the names says – the best of San Diego. It takes place on July 18, and tickets are $93, or $120 for VIP ones.
9. Have a mystery picnic

San Diego is lucky to have pretty amazing weather year-round, which means the picnic season is pretty extensive. However, the summer is still the peak time – and it gets more interesting with a little mystery. With this self-guided foodie adventure you will solve clues to collect gourmet picnic treats and discover a hidden, picturesque picnic spot away from the crowds. It takes place in beautiful La Jolla. 10. Catch a race at Del Mar

Del Mar Racing Season will take place from July 18 to September 7, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the action. This is a wonderful opportunity to wear your summertime best and enjoy a mimosa while watching the amazing sportsmanship in display.
11. Enjoy a summer concert at The Rady Shell this July in San Diego

This stunning open-air concert venue, located on the San Diego Bay waterfront is the perfect location for summer concerts. It opened in 2021, and it serves as the San Diego Symphony’s first permanent outdoor home. This unique setup offers a blend of phenomenal acoustics and classic SD scenic beauty. 12. SeaWorld Summer Spectacular

The Summer Spectacular concert series returns to Bayside Amphitheater with an expanded lineup, featuring legendary rap, hip-hop, and R&B artists from the ’90s and early 2000s. It takes place every Saturday night at 6 PM from June 21 to August 23. Concerts are included with park admission, and reserved seating upgrades are available for premium viewing. Here’s the list for July:

13. Check out one of these amazing black sand beaches

When you think of black sand beaches your mind immediately wanders to exotic, faraway lands. But we have two of them nearby, and yes, they’re stunning. Venture into the wild Lost Coast and you’ll discover the incredible spectacle that is Shelter Cove, with its black sand beach. Alternatively, nestled deep within the woods of the Golden Gate Recreation Area in San Francisco, you’ll find the black sand beach at Sausalito.
14. Quick trip to Oceanside for amazing food

If you’re looking for a quick change of scenery, Oceanside has a pretty good one! But, it doesn’t just serve views…it serves delicious food, too. You can go with classic and great seafood, or you could try out creative sushi, Balinese food, or beloved homey food. Here are our favorite 5 spots in the area.
15. Chill out at this Retreat Pool & Cabanas this July in San Diego
