Now that we are right in the middle of summer there are so many wonderful things to do in San Diego this July. And what better way to celebrate the summer months than by heading outdoors and seeing all our beautiful city has to offer. Enjoy the wonderful San Diego weather and outdoors, along with these awesome activities this July! Just remember to wear your sunscreen!
It’s almost The 4th of July in San Diego, so get ready and plan what firework show you want to see. There are so many great shows and celebrations to choose from, you can look through our selection here.
Comic-Con is back in San Diego! This is the first time that the ultimate fandom event is back to normal(ish). There are so many changes and amazing updates to keep up with. You can keep up will the events big updates here! Comic-Con starts on Thursday July 21
and ends on Sunday, July 24.

San Diego Pride is back! The official events last from July 9 through July 17. This beautiful celebration culminates with the Pride Festival on Saturday, Jul 16, and Sunday, Jul 17 at Marston Point in Balboa Park.

This is one of our favorite summer traditions for a good reason! Enjoy fabulous films at the lovely Little Italy every Saturday night from July through September. The Little Italy Summer Film Festival is presented by the Little Italy Association and Cinema Little Italy. The movies are screened at the beautiful Amici Park Amphitheater. Doors open at 7:30pm and the films start at 8:00pm. The admittance fee is a $10.00 donation.

This summer, you can visit one of San Diego’s very best book stores and get a dent in your summer reading! This lovely shop is in the heart of North Park! Verbatim Books has mostly second hand books and delightfully rare and unique collections. Keep an eye out for their events calenders since they regularly have talks by local authors, poetry readings which complement the joy of book browsing.

Are you looking for good old, adventurous fun? If you are, why not try a Scavenger Hunt across Balboa Park. This event combines the excitement of the Amazing Race with a three-hour event as you and your team compete against others for the best score and bragging rights. Any smartphone is compatible with the event, and it will guide your team along the way. The competition will include both known and overlooked gems of the city as you solve clues and complete challenges while learning local history.
A delicious brunch with breathtaking ocean views sounds like the perfect July day. La Jolla’s “Pink Lady.” will have their decadent brunch every weekend along with live music from local bands from 11:00 am-2:00 pm. You have to try their La V cinnamon roll topped with pink icing and fresh berries and their Lobster Benedict!
At San Diego’s first casino, Sycuan Casino and Resort, you can now get day passes for the resort’s pools and cabanas. You can book the ticket anytime between 9 am – 1 pm. You can also get tickets for their Night Swim, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

San Diego is lucky to have pretty amazing weather year-round, which means the picnic season is pretty extensive. However, the summer is still the peak time to have a wonderful picnic day. Plus, if you time it just right and you can enjoy the pink and orange glow of those show-stopping sunsets San Diego is known for.
Del Mar Racing Season will take place from July 22 to September 11, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the season! This is a wonderful opportunity to wear your summertime best and enjoy a mimosa or just enjoy from the amazing sportsmanship in display.

Throughout the whole month, cheer on the Padres this 2022 season at our home games at Petco Park!

Point Loma Summer Concerts are a beloved family-friendly tradition. You can catch these shows at Point Loma Park, with crowds of almost 3,000! The season lasts from July 15 – August 12. The shows are on Fridays, from 5:30-8:30 pm.
