The ultimate celebration of female empowerment and action sports is returning to San Diego! Held at the iconic Oceanside Pier, the Super Girl Surf Festival is the world’s largest female sports, music, and lifestyle event. Expect an action-packed weekend of amazing competitions and free entertainment. Mark your calendars for August 21 – 23, 2026.
The heart of Super Girl Surf Festival: competition
At the heart of the festival is the world-renowned surf contest. Serving as the only World Surf League (WSL) WQS 4000 women’s event in the U.S., the competition features more than 175 top professional surfers battling it out for crucial Championship Tour qualifying points. Besides, the coveted red Super Girl cape is on the line. Beyond the WSL shortboard contest, the event also hosts an elite longboard competition.
Surfing isn’t the only action on the sand. Over 750 female athletes will compete across 9 different sports, including beach volleyball, flag football, beach soccer, and skateboarding.
Amazing free concerts
When the sun starts to set, the stage lights up. The festival boasts a completely free concert series featuring 20 artists across 3 days. This year’s headliners include Iration, Hippie Sabotage, B.o.B, and K.Flay. While the concerts are free and open to all ages, attendees must pre-register online here to secure a ticket.
Beyond the surf and music
The Festival Village is a destination all its own. Here, you can explore a female art expo, grab a bite from local food vendors, or hit the roller skating rink. Over at the #GOALS Stage, join free daily classes in fitness, yoga, and Zumba. For those looking to be inspired, there are panel discussions and a unique mentorship program designed to connect young fans with pro athletes.
